So every man has to shave every now and again.

Some more than others.

Some for work & some for preference.

My reason is the former…

Unfortunately for me my job although requires me to keep within a certain lvl of neat and professionalism, the job itself is both hazardous and quite dirty.

So back to my original thought, damn my luck!

I shave to be presentable for drill only to be told to go grab my old equipment from iraq and drive a truck out into the woods for training that weekend.

Once we get there we have little to do but sit around and joke act our deployments and shoot the shit with the new guys.

Its cold its windy and for a brief period there was a bit of rain.

When its all been said and done, we are told to head back to base to play army another day.

That night i sleep in my car.

The next day i get up, shower, shave and brush my teeth.

3 days later i have a lump in my chin and jaw thats hard lumpy and under the surface of the skin.

2 days later i go to the hospital where they tell me i have an infectious disease.

another 2 nights in the hospital and they tell me its getting worse and the antibiotics aren’t working.

Now they want to operate on my chin and lip… yes it progressed into my lip and it now protrudes up ward like a sad child would do, except only to my left side.

This wouldn’t be as stressful if my car wasn’t in the shop and ready to be picked up today… where i can’t get to it. if i hadn’t gotten into an accident in the first place which was of no fault of my own. or if i had a civilian job to which i could just refer my income and not worry about expenses that i may in crew while here and unable to work.

Not to mention they only staff the most beautiful nurses and administrative directors at this hospital and while on a good day id be a decent 6 maybe a even 7. I’m a dead 1 looking like the Thing out of fantastic 4…

But although most are beautiful they must have just gotten out of college or be suffering from the same debilitating disease that inhibits one from being able to find a damn vein to stick! I’ve been stuck 8 times in 2 days resulting in sore and bruised arms… and only adding to my hatred of needles.

Next time i go out buy me a bottle of sweet Honey Jack, a scalpel some gloves and  a whole lot of gauze… and go to town on the growth and if i die from the insuring drunken self mutilation at leas ill go out smiling and pain free as by then i will be done with the bottle and singing my favorite cadences from bootcamp;
